Cassava with Grated Coconut aka Khoai Mi Dua Bao
Ingredients:
1 young coconut(white)
4 cassavas
Sesame seeds (uncook)
Peanuts
Step 1:
1. Peel outer skin then cut in 2”-3” cubes then wash well
2. soak cassavas overnight ( due to its high cyanide content )
Step 2:
1. prepare steamer on high heat
2. depending on size, Cut the cassavas in cubes then half
3. Wash well again then put all the cut pieces in steamer
4. Steam for 45 minutes or when it’s soft enough for u to stick a chopstick in
5. Let cool then break them up into small pieces, while peeling off the strings along the core
6. Mix in some grated coconut and sesame seeds with peanuts
Step3:
1. Roast 4 soupspoon of crushed peanuts
2. Roast 1 soupspoon of sesame seeds
3. Mix #1 and #2 together then add 2 soupspoon sugar and 1 tsp salt, mix well
