Ingredients:
For a party
3 cans of Black eye peas
2cups if glutinous rice
3 cups of sugar
12 cups of water
For your small family
2 cans of black eye peas
1 1/3 cup of glutinous rice
1.5 cups Of sugar (less if you don’t like it too sweet)
8 cups of water
I’m making it for my small family
Prepare: 1 soupspoon of tapioca starch with 2 souspoons of cold water in small bowl, stir well and leave aside
Step 1
1. Open up 2 cans of black eye peas and rinse under warm water in strainer
2. Rinse 1 1/3 cups if glutinous rice under hot water and leave in strainer to dry
3. Prepare pot with 8 cups of water on high heat until it comes to boiling point
4. Add glutinous rice in pot , stir with chopsticks so it doesn’t stick
5. Lower fire to medium and leave for 10 minutes
6. Add black eye peas into pot
7. Stir again and wait until it boil again then add
8. 1.5 cups of sugar, stir several times use a pair of chopsticks
9. When it started to boil again, add the prep (1 soupspoon of tapioca starch with 2 soupspoon of water) into pot then stir well
10. Turn off heat and let it cool off
Coconut cream
Prepare: 2/3 soupspoon of tapioca starch with 1 soupspoon of cold water mix well) and set aside
1. In small pot, add 1 can of coconut cream
2. Add 1 soupspoon sugar
3. 1/2 tsp salt
4. Add the prep (tapioca starch with water) into coconut cream slowly, stirring as you’re pouring it in
4. Cook for 15 minutes then turn off fire
