Vietnamese Fried Chicken aka Ga Chien Gion
Fried Chicken Wings aka Ga Chien Gion
1 lb chicken drumsticks + Wings - wash in cold water then soak in vinegar with water for 15 minutes
Prepare pot of hot boiling water -
add
1. 1 soupspoon white wine
2. 2 tsp chicken powder
3. 4 tsp salt
Once water comes to boil, put the washed items into boiling water and let boil for 20-25 minutes
While waiting for chicken to cook:
In a glass bowl,
add
1. 1 tsp of paprika powder
2. 1 tsp salt
3. 1 tsp black pepper
4. 1/2 tsp garlic powder
5. 1 tsp chicken powder and put aside
After 20 minutes, dump cooked items into the strainer and let it sit to cool for about 15 minutes. Add the drumsticks + wings into the glass bowl with the prepared spices and mix well. Marinate for 30 minutes
Need 3 separate bowls:
1. 2 cups of all purpose flour in bowl 1
2. Crack 3 eggs then beat well and put in bowl 2
3. Tempura flour in bowl 3
Prepare pot of cooking oil then start dipping in each wing and drumsticks as shown in picture before frying
